With new government guidance on taking exercise in visitor gardens, we are very pleased to announce that Exbury Gardens will be open throughout the lockdown period and possibly up until Christmas. We believe that keeping the gardens open to the public in this way is in the best interest of all, enabling our visitors to reap the mental and physical benefits of using our 200 acres of outstanding natural beauty for exercise.

Unfortunately, our Steam Railway has now closed for the winter to allow us to carry out essential maintenance work, but for garden lovers and those simply wishing to spend quality time outdoors there is still lots to see in the gardens.

We currently have two catering outlets open, offering hot and cold drinks and snacks to take away, including a wide range of hot vegan and gluten free options.

The gardens are exceptionally beautiful at the moment, with our acer collection shedding vibrant scarlet leaves and our National Collection of Nyssa and Oxydendrum aflame with oranges and yellows. We are also having an exceptionally good year for fungi, with many interesting species carpeting our woodland garden. We have very rarely opened in November in the past and so it's a real pleasure to be able to show off our collections of rare trees and shrubs at this time of year.
